Volta Coaching was established by three seasoned burnout coaches: Ellen, Jan, and Jeroen. Additionally, we collaborate with a select group of top-tier coaches, chosen for their exceptional coaching skills and corporate experience, and trained in Volta’s methodologies. This ensures we consistently deliver the high standard of coaching we promise.

Ellen

I hold a Master’s degree in Work Psychology from KU Leuven and honed my skills in the HR department of a major organization. The numerous assessments I conducted were excellent preparation for my coaching role. In my coaching sessions, I guide coachees to explore the obstacles hindering their professional performance, and together, we set their lives back on course.

My approach is grounded in science and empirical evidence rather than trends or vagueness. I combine this with a personal touch, warmth, and a healthy dose of pragmatism—principles that embody Volta Coaching.

How do I recharge? By immersing myself in the Campine forests, regardless of the season.

Jan

With a background in linguistics, I was fortunate to collaborate early in my career with one of the most successful work psychologists of the time. Inspired by this mentor, I pursued psychology studies.

For over two decades, I’ve served as an HR manager and consultant across various sectors—including finance, automotive, chemicals, healthcare, and manufacturing—in Flanders, the Netherlands, and Germany. Additionally, I’ve coached CEOs of small and medium-sized enterprises for 14 years through Plato and have been a guest lecturer in HR management at the Association KU Leuven for seven years.

I began coaching CEOs and high potentials in 2012. Our burnout methodology has since been refined and become our specialty.

The rewarding aspect of our work is that burnout coaching often serves as a profound revelation for our coachees:

  • For the first time, they consciously reflect on themselves.
  • They achieve tangible improvements that surpass mere hope or intent.

We make a real impact because we prioritize discretion, safety, and openness. Many coachees share that our sessions provided them with a space to speak candidly for the first time.

Jeroen

I earned my Master’s degree in Work Psychology from KU Leuven in 2015 and initially worked in the communications sector before dedicating myself to burnout coaching.

My interest stems from evolutionary psychology and neuroscience. Understanding the origins of behavior and how to influence it equips you with a powerful tool to shape your life.

People often feel resigned to their circumstances, not realizing the extent of control they have over their emotions and actions. Recent advances in neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to rewire itself—have been groundbreaking. Similar to physical exercise for muscles, you can actively cultivate and refine your mindset, thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors, leading to a virtuous cycle and a transformed life experience. You remain true to yourself, just an improved version.

In burnout coaching, we focus on:
